Kale Chips


Very quick and easy to make – great if you’re trying to avoid crisps but are craving a crunchy snack!


Prep time 5 minutes. Cooking time 10-15 minutes



  • Kale
  • Dash of olive oil (ideally in a spray bottle)
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Small pinch of chili powder (optional)


  1. Pre-heat conventional oven to 175°C
  2. Line a large oven tray with baking paper
  3. Remove the kale leaves from the thick stalks and tear into bite size pieces
  4. Scatter the kale leaves on the oven tray, spray lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper and chili (if using)
  5. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, tossing 1 or 2 times, until the edges start to turn brown.
  6. Serve immediately or leave to cool then store in an air-tight container for up to 48 hours.
